I am a procrastinator so I haven't actually set up any of our New Year's Eve activities yet but I thought I should share what I have planned to help those of you trying to plan your festivities! While browsing Pinterest, I came across a ton of cute count down activities. You can see my New Year's Eve Pinterest Board here. I am leaning toward using balloons for my countdown.
Here's what I have planned for our kid friendly New Year's Eve:
6:00

7:00
Drink hot chocolate and look at a slide show of the last year.

8:00
Draw and write about our favorite moments of 2013 and our goals for 2014

9:00
Family Dance Party

10:00
Create a time capsule using photos and mementos from 2013 along with drawings from earlier. I plan on using a mason jar. You can find other time capsule ideas on my New Year's Eve Pinterest board.

11:00
Fun with sparklers and silly string.

12:00
Either confetti filled balloons or a DIY balloon drop (made with a draw string trash bag.) We'll also bring out the noise makers at midnight! :)
Thank you so much for visiting Joy Focused Learning! What does your family do on New Year's Eve?

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of doing a time capsule, that could be fun to do every year until the kids are grown and then pull them out to look through. How fun!
