Coconut Oil Fun & A Tropical Traditions Giveaway!

Disclaimer: Tropical Traditions provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review or sponsor a product giveaway in return for the free product.  If you order by clicking on any of my links and have never ordered from Tropical Traditions in the past, you will receive a free book on Virgin Coconut Oil, and I will receive a discount coupon for referring you.

We love coconut oil in our house!  We use it in recipes in place of other oils and we use it in bath and body products. I love versatile products like Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil!  C was especially excited when our coconut oil arrived because she instantly thought of a yummy use for the coconut oil, Fairy Magic Ice Cream!  I enjoyed that the Tropical Traditions oil lent a light coconut flavor to the hard shell chocolate sauce. If you aren't a fan of coconut, I do not taste the coconut when I use the oil in baked goods. I also appreciated that we could enjoy a fun treat while being able to pronounce every ingredient!

We also used our Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil to try something new, Whipped Coconut Oil Body Butter!  It is so rich and creamy and perfect for dry winter skin.  All it takes is good coconut oil(Where can you buy coconut oil? Click here.) and a hand or stand mixer.  I think the stand mixer may yield better results, this Whipped Coconut Oil in a stand mixer at The Nourished Life looks quite a bit creamier than mine!  I am happy with how mine turned out though.  I did add essential oil for scent but it is not necessary.

I am so happy with how this turned out!  I have heard that whipping the coconut oil helps it stay a little softer in cold temperatures.  I will have to let you know how that works!

What can you use coconut oil for?  The video below has some wonderful ideas!

My Opinion of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil

I was very impressed with the speed of delivery and the oil arrived securely packaged and in good condition.  I appreciated that the oil comes in a glass jar because I try to use as little plastic as possible.  The oil has a strong coconut scent so I believe that is a good quality coconut oil.  I have purchased "virgin" coconut oil in the past, that didn't really smell much like coconuts which led me to believe it wasn't very pure.  Like I mentioned before, I could taste the coconut in the hard shell chocolate sauce but I could not in a batch of pumpkin muffins.  I loved that it was such a large jar (32 oz) because I use it for so many different things!  After making the chocolate sauce, muffins and whipped body butter I still have more than half the jar left.  If you use or are interested in using coconut oil, I highly recommend Tropical Traditions!

Whether you are new to coconut oil or a big fan like me, I have great news!  Tropical Traditions is going give one of you a 32oz Jar of their Gold Label Virgin Coconut oil!
