End the school day with something fun: Muffin Tin Meals

If you are pinterest lover like me, you have probably seen muffin tin meals pop up on your screen a few times. I have always enjoyed making the occasional cute or themed lunch for C - and when I saw muffin tin meals I thought it was a great way to change up the monotony of lunch time!

A pretty meal, presented in a new way? Sounds like a joyful way to end the school day to me! Our goal for school time is to focus on the joy of learning, but sometimes I struggle with the balance between making learning fun and wanting C to accomplish the goals I have for the day.  A muffin tin meal is a wonderful way to end a school day that wasn't quite as joyful as I would have liked!

Today was our first muffin tin meal and C really loved it.  She said, "Thank you Mommy for my lunch" and proceeded to comment and all the cute details as she ate.  As with most things I kept the details pretty simple - I have seen some extravagant lunches!

Contents in top row:  peas - spinach w/ranch - cantaloupe with grape hearts

Contents in bottom row: Whole wheat P.B. sandwich flowers - cauliflower with tomato heart - pumpkin & sunflower seeds
Everything in her meal was organic - we try to eat organic, whole, real foods as much as possible.

This was a great day to end with something fun like a muffin tin. Our switch from traditional virtual school to Calvert isn't finalized yet.  C was really not appreciating the work her teacher had assigned today.  This little muffin tin helped improve her mood!

Have you ever tried a muffin tin meal with your kiddos?

Thank you so much for visiting Joy Focused Learning!
