Calendar Time with FREE Printables

I hope you all had a great weekend!  Ours was busy, but not with anything particularly exciting.  EXCEPT that I finished up our Calendar Time wall and also made a second set of not so girly printables to share with all of you!

I have seen some excellent Calendar Time ideas on other blogs, ours is pretty simple for a couple reasons:

  • I try to not use too much ink/paper-it is SO expensive!
  • C isn't too big on math so I try and do our math in short and sweet segments throughout our school time

Here is what we have:

Simple printed calendar - we underline each day as it comes. Then I demonstrate how to write the date.  Then, C updates our Yesterday was, Today is & Tomorrow will be cards with the days of the week cards. I gave the weekend days a different border to help reinforce that the days of the week are grouped into "weekdays" and the "weekend."  These items go up on our small dry erase board.  The "Today Is" and day cards are laminated.  The day cards have a piece of a magnet strip attached to the pack so she can easily change out the days.

To the left of our board we have a clock page that is laminated.  Sometimes I have C recreate the current time, sometimes I let her make up a time herself and other days I make up a time for her.  She draws the time on the face clock and writes the time on the digital clock.

Below the dry erase board we have a 0-20 number line that we use occasionally for addition and subtraction.  I also like having it just as support when we practice counting down.  C does a good job most of the time counting down from ten but anything above that can be stressful for her.

Thank you so much for visiting Joy Focused Learning!  I hope you enjoy the Calendar printables - if you have an requests for printables Spanish or English, please leave a comment and I will try to make fulfill popular requests.
