You can't have enough support as a homeschooler, atleast I can't. I admit it - I'm a worrier. Am I going to miss some all important skill C is supposed to learn this year? Is this blog a fraud if our school day isn't a joyful as I hope it will be? Did we get enough done this week? The questions and concerns never stop!
It is so important to have homeschool friends to talk about your worries and support each other. If you don't have any homeschool friends, try to find a homeschool group or co-op in your area - it is such an encouragement to be around like-minded people.
Along with building relationships with real life homeschoolers, I have a few homeschool blogs I follow. These ladies share such great ideas and also aren't afraid to share when things aren't working. Reading these blogs challenge me as a blogger, homeschooler and a parent. Here are a few of my favorites - in no particular order:
1. 1+1+1
Shares so many great ideas and printables especially for toddlers and preschoolers.
2. Free Homeschool Deals
Shares freebies and deals from around the web. Her Facebook page is a great place for homeschoolers to share with one another.
3. Bible Based Homeschool (on a budget)
Shares Biblical printables and resources from around the web.
4. Homeschool Creations
Shares great printables and also has a wonderful Facebook community.
5. HEDUA
Such an informative site! So much information here - product reviews, homeschooling info, special needs resources, this list here goes on and on!
6. Melissa and Doug
We love Melissa and Doug in our home! Their well made products add so much fun to our school day. 7. Starfall
C loves the interactive stores and games and Starfall - it makes an excellent supplement to The Reading Lesson!
8. Education
We have been using Education.com for a few years now - they have a huge library of printables and articles for all different grade levels. They also offer very affordable downloadable workbooks-I think we are going to purchase the 1st or 2nd grade spelling workbook for C soon! 9. HSLDA
HSLDA is an amazing site that advocates for the rights of homeschoolers and offers support and resources for homeschooling families.
10. Frugal Homeschooling Family
Shares free and cheap resources from around the web. This is a great resource for those of us trying to homeschool on a budget!
