Weekly Wrap-Up Week of 11-3

We were super busy this week!  Last night was presentation night for our co-op.  C chose to do a presentation on sharks - so we have done very little outside of preparing for her shark presentation!  We did squeeze in a little bit of time for other subjects.

Astronomy

For Astronomy, we are using Apologia that we were so blessed to through Hip Homeschool Moms!  We are so thankful to Apologia and H.H.M. for this curriculum - C is loving it so much!  This week we worked on finishing up lesson one.

We made a model of the solar system out of playdoh - C was fascinated with how tiny Pluto and Mercury are compared to Jupiter and Saturn.  The tiny white spec at the end is Pluto, can you see it?

By far, her favorite part was squashing the planets after we were finished!

Song School Spanish

After being blessed with the Apologia Astronomy curriculum through a H.H.M. giveaway, I was so surprised to win a Classical Academic Press giveaway at a recent Hip Homeschool Moms Facebook party!  We won Song School Spanish - and I am so thankful!  C had gotten bored with the printable packs I used to make for Spanish time, but she has been loving Song School Spanish so far!

She loves the music cd that came with the program - her favorite song is "Donde Esta Tortuga?"  It has been a great fit for us!

Outside Fun

We also had fun playing Red Light Green Light this week!

 She got me!

Shark Presentation

We spent most of Tuesday and ALL of Wednesday and Thursday getting everything finished up for her presentation.

She did such a great job!  She was very excited to see her name in the program.

Now, I've got to clean up our home!  It is covered in tiny bits of paper and lamination!

Quick Announcement: I received an offer to review K5.  K5 Learning has an online reading and math program for kindergarten to grade 5 students.  I've been given a 6 week free trial to test and write a review of their program.  If you are a blogger, you may want to check out their  open invitation to write an online learning review of their program. - See more at: http://www.k5learning.com/review-k5#sthash.TltIAxT2.dpuf

Look for my thoughts on K5 in the coming weekly wrap ups and a full review post at the end of our trial!  I am excited to try K5 with C!
