Last Minute Advent Calendar

I apologize to those of you who are organized and plan things ahead of time.  I would have posted this sooner, but I just finished laminating, cutting and taping this up to the wall a few minutes ago.  I am so happy with how it turned out.  In years past we have done paper chains, but I love how neat and orderly this simple tree calendar looks!

I made both a color and a black and white version.  I used the black and white, I colored the circles with green and brown colored pencils.  Here is how it turned out:

I included the activities we are doing on the printables.  They are just the right size to fold in half and tape into each circle.  Here is what the printable looks like.  This is what I did:

  • Color the front of each (the numbered area)
  • Laminate and cut out each piece
  • Fold so that the number is in front
  • Fold and tape an activity inside
  • Tape closed
  • Tape to wall
I laminated these in the hope that I will be able to re-use it next year.  Along with the day's activity we will be reading through the story of Jesus' birth as well as a different Christmas story each day. (I loaded up the last time I was at the library.)
