Paper Bag Scrapbook Homemade Gift from Kids

When C opened up the advent circle for today, I was reminded that I completely forgot to come up with a project for "make a gift for daddy" day.  We went right to Pinterest to find an idea.  I found a ton of cute ideas but nothing that C or I wanted to make.

I finally came across these cute "This We Love About You" scrapbooks but they were a bit too involved, calling for a store bought empty scrapbook to be filled.  I racked my brain, trying to come up with a simpler way.  I thought that maybe a paper bag book would work.  I found the idea for paper bag books on Spell Outloud over a year ago.

I pulled out 2 paper bags and all of our craft supplies then we got work!  I made sure she knew what all she had to choose from and then she made all of the choices.

I am thrilled with how this project turned out! I may have suggested that C try to somehow convince my husband to make one for "make a gift for mommy" day without him knowing we made him one.  I'm not sure if it will work but I want one!

5. C giving her daddy her last 4 year old hug.  She chose to use two transfers: amazing and happy.  She also chose the hugs & kisses border on the bottom
6. C and her daddy at Chuck E. Cheese's. She chose to decorate with "delight" and "playtime."

She also decided to give him her copy of It's Hard to be Five by Jamie Lee Curtis.  It is a cute book and Adiel often asks to read it to her but she doesn't like it.  She doesn't think it's hard to be five at all!  We wrapped up the gifts and put them under the tree, as she put them under the tree she kissed them - how cute is that?

Isn't it beautiful?  I hope she convinces her daddy to make one for me!

Does your family like to do homemade gifts?  Thank you so much for visiting Joy Focused Learning!
