A Quick Summary of Thrive by Mark Hall
Thrive By Mark Hall with Tim Luke is the first book I am reviewing for BookLook Bloggers. I am so thankful to have found this program because I may not have found this book without it. In Thrive, Mark Hall challenges and encourages us do more than just survive this life but to thrive. Through scripture and narratives from his life and those of people close to him, Mark shows us what it means to thrive. The first part of the challenge is to dig deep into God's word and your relationship with Him. We all know that this is important but it is easy to allow life to get in the way. It is so important to be reminded of this. The second part is to reach out. What good does the gospel do the world if we keep it to ourselves? Mark challenges us to serve and love people like Jesus loved.
My Thoughts on Thrive
This book was such a blessing to me! I had to dig out a highlighter because there were so many phrases that touched my soul and I wanted to be able to refer back to them. All to often I feel like I am just surviving this life. I felt so encouraged by Mark's challenge that we dig deep, reach out and thrive! The anecdotes he shares feel honest and real. Sometimes we see people who have made it big and think they have it all together. It was so refreshing to hear that Mark struggles and has fears like the rest of us. I loved the advice that we all need to have Pauls and Timothys in our circle. Our Pauls are the people that pour into us and inspire us to do better and the Timothys are the people we pour into. I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels like they are just surviving. Thrive is likely a book that I will continue to open up and enjoy throughout my life.
