C refuses to go to class at church. I have gone with her to try the class out so she can she it is fun. She still does not want to go, she prefers to sit in the service with us. She does a good job of being quiet and keeps busy with activities we pack for her. Still,I felt like she would benefit from a sermon note guide to help her listen to and be engaged with the sermon instead of just playing.
We may eventually get her something like the Sermon Notes for Kids from A Truth Steps Publication but for now I just wanted a quick printable.I saw a few online, but nothing quite like I wanted so I made my own! It is simple but C found it very engaging.
For the Words I Heard boxes we wrote a word at the top of the box and C wrote tallies as she heard the words. This week we used the words: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Praise, Worship and Bible. She made a prediction of what word she would hear the most (Bible) and after service saw that she actually heard God more.
The bottom two boxes are for drawing and writing something she wants to remember from the sermon. She was more interested in the tallies than this part this week.
There are two versions Pink/Green and Blue/Red.

Do your kids go to a class during service or do they sit with you? I would love to hear in the comments below! Thanks so much for visiting Joy Focused Learning!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for these!
ReplyDeleteOur church has a "Sunday School" class on Sunday mornings for about 30 minutes and the rest of the service the children sit with their parents. These will be awesome for my children to have to fill out for the part they are in service!
Great! I would love to hear how your little ones like it!
